The design exercise entailed the vertical integration of two apartment units into one, through the creation of a central feature staircase. A central double height dining space draws natural light into the heart of the residence, brightening up the ethnic themed finishes and furniture. Custom furniture like the traditional bench-jhoola; adds a personal touch to the cozy living room, while the feature staircase incorporates storage units supporting the dining room. A formal living room provides an entertainment space for the residents’ corporate lifestyle. The upper floor incorporates private spaces and attached terraces, allowing each family member their own space for quiet repose. The master bedroom has been designed to view the Chaturshingi Temple.
Beige flooring and walls, complemented by red sapeli wood and flame finished Cadbury brown granite make up the material palette for this fusion apartment, representing a contemporary interpretation of traditional aesthetics.
